The Room: 2nd Attempt to View

As you can see, this film had entered the camp of kitsch a few years ago. All them hipsters have sighed in my direction and said, "Yeah, man, I've seen it like so many years ago." Well, this response is always akin to someone saying they know the band I'm listening to, but their old stuff was so much better and I should probably check...this is where I tune out.

Back to The Room. I did put the movie back on after about a half bottle of red wine which I polished off midway though. This is definitely a Marijuana Movie Night film, but you best tack on some booze to help it along. The acting and dialog alone are of unmistakable originality. It is a style all it own, but I don't think I want to try to sit through it again (and never sober), but I suggest everyone see this. Dubbing and dialog along are worth it alone, even if you only watch with your eyes closed & your buzz up to eleven. Give it a little taste, but maybe spread it out over a weekend.

Banjo Guy

This guy was playing banjo at a gas station off the 1 south on my ride down from San Francisco. He does look like he is passed out and this is how I kind of feel after a very active weekend.

Anus Magillicutty

There is not much to add to this. I'm not glad I watched this, but I wonder where I can find this movie.

The Room: 1st Attempt to View

This movie might be unwatchable. I tried to view it with someone the other night. We got about 20 minutes into it and she started yelling, "Turn it off! Turn it off now!" A day went by and the wonderfully bad dialog in the terribly amazing plot by the horrific actors kept running though my brain. Attempt two may require booze to get through it. I will try again this evening.

A Premier Marijuana Movie Night At Last!

I've had many a night smoking and watching my choice film picks, but they were all solo flights. Perhaps I was able to connect and see things in the film (real or because of an altered imagination), but one is a lonely crowd so I had to either talk to myself or tell my dog.

I finally had a few folks over and we sampled a little bit of Headband (a nifty sativa which made us all jabber jaw away) and viewed a camp keeper. This classic came out in 2009 and can be rented or streamed on Netflix. Hear Debi Gibson lisp her way through her part! See Lorenzo Lamas purse his lips and sort of just stand there and say his lines! Be blown away by special effect circa 1992! It's called Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus. What are you waiting for? I will leave you with this memorable scene.

Pussy Prima Donna

Actors have their trailers and their stand-ins on certain days, but if you are a famous pet food icon like Morris the Cat, they make a fiberglass facade of you in order to stage the lighting, prepare the set, etc. Only then do they bring in the "talent" and shoot away. The above picture is a few of the Morris' which are being used in the new 9 Lives ad campaigns. My friend's girlfriend who sent me this image is going to get these two when they are done. She wanted them to be a new addition to her growing art collection. If I had these guys, two words: pinata party. Somebody bring some rope and I'll supply my expandable baton and a twelve pack.

The Dune That Never Happened

One of the greatest science fiction books written is Dune by Frank Herbert. For many years, this books has passed through many talented hands who wanted to try and make it into a film of similar stature. Director & writer Alejandro Jodorowsky was in talks to make Dune and Pink Floyd was going to score the film. It would have been amazing and almost happened.

Years later, David Lynch did his best, but it still came off as pretty cheesy. Quite recently, some behind the scenes footage actress Sean Young shot surfaced which is pretty fun to watch. Enjoy.

More Banksy in San Francisco

Banksy in San Francisco

M.M.N. took a little hiatus as I traveled to Northern California to hang out with a good friend. About a week before, Banksy hit up the Bay Area to spread some of his work to multiple parts of the city. I've been hearing amazing things about the new documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop and seeing these have me pretty stoked to see it.
