More Writing on the Walls

Roger Gastman, one of the producers of Exit Through the Gift Shop and co-curator of the Art in the Streets show at MOCA last summer, brings us Wall Writers. This documentary tells the story of the graffiti scene when street artists were just vandals and what they did was not considered art, but urban blight. Thanks to Jocelyn for turning me on to this.

You Wanna Get High School?

Dazed and Confused got away with it because the movie was based in the 70s and Fast Times at Ridgemont High was excused because it was Southern California. However, the mainstreaming of weed has been a Hollywood mission for years. This film is a gloved finger up the ass of all those barring the way to marijuana legalization and it directly targets high school students. I want to party with these producers!

This summer is going to be fun with this movie being released along with the flock of superheroes ones coming out too. Flame on!

The Way of the Easy Rider

A big thanks to Slate for posting these cool Easy Rider gifs in honor of 4-20.

You're Never Too Old to Pick Up a Good Habit

AARP members, you should be demanding your right to smoke up! The only thing that goes together with marijuana better than movies is retirement. Take it from this guy below. He's been smoking weed since the 1930s.

Four Twenty Rides Again

A 4/20 on a Friday is like finding twenty bucks in the pocket of your jeans when you put them on. The day is off to a good start. Like a civilized stoner, I took a vacation day. Sorry to you working stiffs!

It is too lovely of a day in Los Angeles to get baked to the movies so I will be hopping on my motorcycle and Easy Rider-ing it around town to hit up my favorite dispensary. Hope you have a day of great heights. Enjoy the little montage below. I found it just for you. All love, all the time.

Retro Movie Moments - Battle Beyond the Stars

I can't seem to get enough of these types of films. Another story concept and screenwriting marvel from the talent of a younger John Sayles. If you loved Star Wars, you'll be sure to wince your way through this.

For the Love of Johnny X

Much like David Lynch, I love the 50s, science fiction, rock & roll and the rebel outsider. The Ghastly Love of Johnny X seems to have it all, but be warned, fellow movie watching stoners, a good trailer does not necessarily make one a fine movie.

Currently, this film is making the round on the festival circuit. I hope it finds a distributor.
