When this film came out there was much ado about something. That something happened to be a whole lot of nudity from Lisa Bonet who was better known to the world as one of the teenage kids on The Cosby Show. I just wanted to show you how far we come around the bend in the passed few decades.

I’m not above gawking at beautiful people wearing nothing, but I was distracted by Robert DeNiro and Mickey Rourke. DeNiro was in his prime and considered one of the greatest living actors. This was a few years before he started the Tribeca Film Center which would later lead to the Tribeca Film Festival and DeNiro starting to do substandard roles to keep the venture afloat. Rourke was a rising star who took chances with the type of roles he took. This was before he fucked up his face in the boxing ring and on the plastic surgeon’s operating table.

But lets get back to Angel Heart. This was story with great noir stylings and was so sweaty and scummy, you could feel the heat, lust and dread dripping off the screen. Nudity, violence, voodoo, drugs, many murders and an unhinged performance by Rourke with a ending twist of M. Night Shyamalan proportions. It was hard to resist. Don’t fight it. Just watch it.
