Revenge Never Looked Cuter

A little girl turns out to be a highly trained assassin and goes on the run. This story unfolded as a film, but was later developed into a series on Amazon Prime. It’s third season dropped on the platform quite recently. Much like Atomic Blond and unlike the Marvel Connected Universe (MCU) and the Stars Wars series, Hanna is realistically violent as hell.

Now does a little girl taking out killers pursuing her feel like a feminist revelation or just some straight-up fantastically spy craft storytelling? Is it a trope of the patriarchy or a pep talk to the matriarchy? Maybe both. I have dug the James Bond films (yes, all of them) for years, but also pine for a female 007. This comes close and I’ll take it.
