This is John Carpenter first film and contains many of his signature elements to come. So enjoy the early instincts of a future auteur with some hint of Jerry & Kubrick. This also contains a great story about surfing in Malibu which made me want to watch this all over again. I'm glad this story helped influence of the awesome poster art above.
