As I gear up to be too high to care about the State of the Union this evening (I skipped to the last chapter and it said the United States is rightly fucked these days), I was looking for alternative entertainment which won’t make me want to crawl under my bed for the next few years. This film seems to tick most of those boxes and puts a weird little smile on my face. I might even have to read to book too.

We live in such uncertain times, I don't know if it's the political rancor or too many superhero movies being made which has made me feel psychically sick and physically out of shape.
It is a challenging 4th of July to be happy with our country so divided. Racism is rampant. Neighbors scowl at neighbors. Political divisiveness strains our relationships to other Americans in many ways. And the very political fabric of what our forefathers put together is being tested.
It is hard to remain optimistic, but on the other side of whatever is happening here in the United States lies a stronger union, a better world and some lessons learned about power, technology and what the American Dream now looks like.
We will get through this. We will persevere. We are Americans. We are America.
